Why are you processing my personal information?

  • We process your personal information to find out the views of older people and disabled people about their experiences of taxi services and the results will inform a wider review of taxi services in Northern Ireland.
  • The legislative basis for the processing of personal information is Article 6 (1) (e) of the UK GDPR “processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest” and section 8 (e) of the Data Protection Act 2018, an activity that supports or promotes democratic engagement.

What categories of personal data are you processing?

The following categories of personal data are processed:

  • Personal Data: ‐ Gender, age group and postcode
  • Special Categories: Personal Sensitive – Physical or mental health details

Where do you get my personal data from?

Your personal information is collected from the completed application form / survey which respondents complete voluntarily.

Do you share my personal data with anyone else?

Your Personal information is only accessed by a limited number of named staff in the Department for Infrastructure (DFI) and shared with Inclusive Mobility and Transport Advisory Committee (IMTAC) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) who will have access to the information you provide.

How long do you keep my personal data?

Once the NISRA staff have identified whether you live in an urban or rural area, they will delete your postcode from the database before they start their analysis and research report, at which point all information will be anonymised. Any emails received regarding the survey will be safely destroyed.

What rights do I have?

  • You have the right to obtain confirmation that your data is being processed, and access to your personal data
  • You are entitled to have personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete
  • You have the right to object to the processing
