The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) is a UK law which came into effect on 1st January 2021 and this privacy notice fulfils requirements and outlines how we collect, use, share and store your personal information.

Why do we need your personal information?

The Department for Infrastructure has a duty under the Noise Insulation Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 to undertake or make a grant available in respect of undertaking noise insulation work in or to eligible buildings affected by the construction of new road projects.

DfI (Roads) processes your information to facilitate communications with home owners, tenants, landlords, contractors, Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), Department staff and its agents in relation to the Installation of Noise Insulation for buildings eligible under the regulations. What categories of personal data are you processing?

Personal data, including your name, address and contact details, which may include email addresses and/or telephone numbers. Other information may include tenant, landlord or licensor consent communications.

Do you share my personal data with anyone else?

The information that you provide will be securely stored and used solely for response purposes and providing scheme updates where appropriate. This information will be accessible to DfI Roads and its appointed consultants and contractors, Departmental Solicitors, NIHE or other Government Departments only. We do not make personal details available to other companies for marketing purposes.

Do you transfer my personal data to other countries?
