The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Parking and Waiting Restrictions (Londonderry) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023”, (S.R. 2023 No. 160), which comes into operation on 27 October 2023.

This rule will authorise lengths of Bishop Street Within, Londonderry for use as parking places and prescribe under what conditions they may be used and further will prohibit vehicles waiting at any time on lengths of Abbey Street (loading and unloading not permitted), Bishop Street Within and Bonds Hill (loading and unloading permitted), Londonderry.

Vehicles are excepted from the prohibition in certain circumstances.

The legislation will also consolidate existing parking and waiting restrictions in Londonderry into one Statutory Rule.

A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by email to dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or by telephone on 0300 200 7899.
