The works will extend from Taughey Road towards Coleraine for a distance of approximately 900 metres.

To facilitate the works it will be necessary to introduce a weekday single lane closure on the A26 Newbridge Road, Monday to Friday, between 9.30 am and 4.00 pm.  This will be in operation from Monday 5 October 2020 until Friday 16 October with Coleraine bound traffic being diverted along the B62 Ballybogey Road, B67 Ballyrashane Road and the A29 Coleraine Ring Road.

A full road closure of the A26 Newbridge Road will also be required between Taughey Road and Damhead Road from Saturday 17 October to Sunday 18 October between the hours of 7.30 am and 7.00 pm. A signed two-way diversion will be in place along the B62 Ballybogey Road, B67 Ballyrashane Road and the A29 Coleraine Ring Road.

Additional temporary traffic control measures may also be in operation at other times.

The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience to the public.  Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow any alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the works.

In order to help ensure the safety of road users and road workers the public is asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and to drive with extra care when travelling in the vicinity of the works.

Completion by 18 October 2020 will be dependent on favourable weather conditions, however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.  All work will be carried out in line with current public health and safety advice with safe systems of working in place for staff and contractors.
