Control of Development In Airport Public Safety Zones

Date published: 18 December 2007

This policy document sets out the Department’s policy for the control of development in Public Safety Zones (PSZs) for the relevant runways at George Best Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airport.

PSZs are areas of land at the ends of the runways within which development is restricted in order to control the number of people on the ground at risk of death or injury in the event of an aircraft accident on take–off or landing.

Future development plans will take account of and be consistent with this document.
