The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled the Parking Places on Roads, Waiting Restrictions and Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) By-Laws (Amendments) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024.

Consultation description

The Order will-

  • revoke a superseded no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading not permitted) on Grosvenor Road (north side) between Athol Street and Fisherwick Place;
  • replace the existing no waiting restriction between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm, Monday to Saturday Grosvenor Road (south side) between Great Victoria Street and Durham Street with two shorter lengths either side of the lay-by;
  • introduce no waiting at any time (loading and unloading permitted) restrictions on Grosvenor Road (both sides) between Durham Street and the Westlink;
  • extend no waiting at any time (loading and unloading permitted) restrictions on Great Victoria Street (east side) north of Amelia Street and on Great Victoria Street (west side) between Hope Street and Glengall Street;
  • replace two lengths of no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading not permitted) on Glengall Street (south side) with a longer length; and
  • remove a loading bay on the south side of Glengall Street;
  • remove a disabled bay on the south side of Glengall Street;
  • remove Glengall Street from Belfast City Centre controlled parking zone; and
  • remove a combined loading bay/taxi stand on Great Victoria Street (east side).

Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.
