The role of the Transport and Road Asset Management (TRAM) Group is to maintain, manage and develop the Northern Ireland transport network to facilitate the safe and convenient movement of people and goods. We also inform Departmental policy to ensure that measures to encourage safe and sustainable travel are practical and can be delivered. Many strategic Government objectives rely heavily on the transport network and this business area is likely to play a key enabling role in any future Programme for Government.
